This small exhibition in Puha shop in Utrecht was a good moment to reflect on recent work I have been making. A crossroads where my printmaking techniques start to influence each other, resulting in a brooding dark summer night. Tripping over folktales, stumbling into rabbit holes. Letting the material guide me and reflecting on my mind. I made a wide selection of old and new pieces, including riso prints, screen prints, woodcut prints, and lino prints. All together these prints they create a sunny, dreamlike woven tapestry that flows between figurative and abstract images. I’m quite pleased with the linocut triptych up there. The black ink and technique resulted in new types of images, a dark but warm world inspired by northern European folk stories, balancing out my kaleidoscopic screen prints.
